Nirankaris & Nam-DharisThe first two groups are the Nirankaris and the Nam-Dharis. The Nirankaris believe in a continuing line of Gurus which is their only difference between orthodox Sikhs. The Nam-Dharis Sikhs also believe in a continuing line of Gurus but believe that Guru Gobind Singh did not die in Nander but lived in secret until passing the title of Guru over.

Akhand Kirtani JathaThe third sect, the Akhand Kirtani Jatha emerged around the early 20th century. The Akhand Kirtani Jatha Sikhs believe in ‘The 5 K’s’ which are a similar to laws they must follow such as uncut hair or wearing a turban.

Sikh DharmaThe Sikh Dharma of the western hemisphere, founded in 1971, require women to wear turbans. This group was founded in the United States, typically called the 3HO movement (Healthy Happy Holy Organization) mostly consists of white followers who stress meditation through a practice called kundalini Yoga.
