This belief often makes individuals wonder if the religion stems from Hinduism, but many Sikhs say it does not. Sikhs also believe in Karma, and believe it is a painful way that people live throughout their lives. They believe that through spiritual liberation, also known as Mukti, one can drop these Karmas with an understanding and union with God.
