Sikhism is an Indian religion founded in the Punjab region in the late fifteenth century. The members of the religion are known as Sikhs. Sikhism was established by Guru Nanak between the years of 1469 and 1539, and has been led by nine other Guru's after him. When the latest Guru, Guru GobindSingh, passed away, the Sikhs began to look at a sacred scripture, called the Guru Granth Sahib. This sacred text is also known as the Adi Granth. While the religion started in a smaller region of India, it has spread to far-flung places like Australia, Western Europe, North America and East Africa.
